Remote manager

Use the Synix remote manager to view and control servers on a paired Windows computer. Synix must include Settings → Privacy → Remote manager and stay open on the hosting PC; it can be minimized. Older releases without that setting cannot pair.

Create your account

Choose Manager on this website, then Create an account. Enter a username and a unique password of at least 12 characters. Before you can manage a computer, you must complete verification using a passkey or an authenticator such as Google Authenticator.

Passkeys can use your device's fingerprint, face recognition, PIN or security key, depending on the device. Synix receives a cryptographic proof, never your fingerprint or face image. An authenticator supplies a changing six-digit code.

In Account security, you can add the other method and enable Require password, passkey AND authenticator. With this enabled, all three are required at every sign-in. Keep access to your methods: there is no email-only recovery that bypasses them.

Pair your hosting computer

  1. On the hosting PC, open Synix → Settings → Privacy → Remote manager.
  2. Give the computer a name and choose Generate pairing code.
  3. Sign in to the website, choose Pair a computer, and enter the code within 10 minutes.
  4. Back in Synix, check the requesting username and choose Approve this account only if it is yours.
  5. Refresh Computers in the manager and select your PC.

Pairing is off by default. The website cannot approve a hosting computer by itself. The computer uses a non-exportable Windows key; the pairing dialog identifies whether it is TPM-backed or protected by Windows software.

Connect and manage

After full sign-in, the website immediately signals paired computers through a quiet outbound connection. It does not wait for the public counter's next update. Detailed server information updates every 10 seconds while you view a computer, and pauses when you hide or disconnect the manager. Network interruptions can delay connecting.

The manager shows server names, games, status, players and uptime. Available actions are Start, Stop, Restart and Back up. Actions use the existing local settings and ask for confirmation. Finish first-time setup and any Steam sign-in on the hosting PC first. Backups require a stopped server.

Remote control does not need router port forwarding. Players joining a game may still need that game's normal network configuration.

Disconnect or unpair

Disconnect pauses the selected computer's detailed updates. Sign out ends this browser session. Account security → Sign out everywhere revokes every browser session, including your current one.

For permanent removal, use Unpair and disconnect in the local Synix dialog or Unpair selected computer on the website. Game servers keep running. Pairing does not return after restarting Synix or Windows: you must explicitly approve a new pairing locally. If the PC is offline, local remote access stops immediately; website removal is retried when connected.

You can delete your manager account from Account security. This removes its pairings and remote records while keeping your local servers and files.

Privacy and sign-in

Login tokens stay in the current tab's memory. Synix does not store them in cookies or browser storage. Refreshing or closing the page signs you out. Passwords are stored as salted hashes; authenticator seeds are encrypted. The manager receives no server passwords, configuration files or raw console output.

The private manager runs on its own Synix hosting address and does not load the public website's automatic translation provider. Its current interface is in English. Public guides, including this one, can be translated using the website's language selector.

The public Active now counter is separate from remote management. If enabled in Synix, it sends an anonymous session signal on startup and every 10 minutes. A session expires from the count after 15 minutes without a signal. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy without disabling remote management.

Connection status and updates

The Remote manager card in Synix Settings shows whether the paired computer is connected, reconnecting, or not paired. Normal app updates and repairs keep its saved identity. Run Synix under the same Windows user to retain the pairing.

Password and computer sign-in

Choose Account security → Change password after signing in. Enter the current password and a new password of at least 12 characters. All browser sessions are signed out; computers remain paired. Computer sign-in uses an authenticator code by default. Phone and tablet users can choose a passkey. Existing accounts that require a passkey still need it until their owner signs in and changes their verification settings. Passkeys created at the previous website address have an explicit recovery sign-in link.

Backup dates and restoring

Each server shows the last backup date and time in your viewing device’s time zone. Backup metadata refreshes once a minute while viewing; completed remote actions refresh it sooner. A legacy archive is labeled unverified.

Stop the server, choose Restore backup, select a dated archive, then choose Review restore. Confirm the server, archive and date before restoring. Restoring replaces current saved data with that backup. Synix uses its existing archive checks and restore recovery process. The 50 newest available backups are listed on demand; backup contents stay on the hosting computer. Update Synix to enable these controls.

Windows virtual machines

The manager also supports Synix in a Windows VM with outbound internet access. A virtual TPM can protect the device key; otherwise Synix uses its Windows-protected software key. Pair each VM separately and run Synix under the same Windows user. Clone a VM before pairing, or remove the copied pairing and generate a new identity in the clone. Remote control needs no inbound port forwarding; the hosted games may still require their usual network configuration.
