Open the gear icon on the dashboard. Available settings can vary by build; development-only tools are not normal server-setup requirements.
General
- Show Server Console Window: Choose whether supported servers show their native console window. Games requiring a visible manager can override ordinary hidden-console behavior.
- Dark Mode: Switch between dark and light themes.
- SteamCMD Download Speed: Use full speed or set the supported download limit. This controls SteamCMD downloads, not player bandwidth or all traffic on the PC.
- Language: Choose English, French, German, or Spanish.
A hidden console is not a stopped server. Use dashboard lifecycle controls when you intend to stop one.
What is translated?
Synix's supported operational interface includes translated windows, dialogs, action text, and validation/status messages.
The Help Center and technical text-log/support-report contents remain in English intentionally. Untranslated resource entries can fall back to English.
These are deliberately not translated:
- Game/server identifiers, maps, modes, filenames, and save names.
- Console commands, configuration keys/values, and launch arguments.
- Ports, tokens, protocol identifiers, and text used to recognize game output.
Changing language must not change the input sent to a game. If ordinary visible interface text is still English unexpectedly, report the language, window, and exact text without including secrets.
Backups
Choose the backup location and retention limit, or use the export/import controls. See Backups, Restore & Transfers.
Privacy & Security
Privacy Mode hides supported sensitive displays for screenshots or screen sharing. It does not change your public IP, encrypt network traffic, or remove secrets from every game log/configuration.
Review the actual screenshot before sharing. Copying a masked field may still copy its real value.
Routine Synix operation uses normal Windows permissions. Optional system changes can require a separate Windows prompt; a particular game such as Dune can require an elevated launcher. There is no need to run all game servers permanently as administrator.
Optional firewall cleanup is scoped to supported Synix-owned stale rules. Read the proposed changes; do not treat it as permission to remove unrelated rules or custom-server access.
Protected saved values
Synix protects its saved passwords, tokens, and webhooks for the current Windows user. The game may still require readable credentials in its own files or process arguments.
For another PC/account, use the supported encrypted transfer workflow. A plain folder copy cannot be assumed to unlock Windows-bound secrets.
Advanced and background behavior
Review optional background-agent, startup, network-warning, and other advanced settings before enabling them. They are not prerequisites for adding a first server.
A scheduled task requires an available PC and running Synix/agent. Explicitly exiting the application is different from closing a child window or minimizing it.
Report a Problem
Use Settings → Report a Problem to prepare a useful report. Review it before submitting or copying it; remove passwords, tokens, webhook URLs, personal paths, and network details you do not want public.
See Troubleshooting & FAQs for a short reporting checklist.
